Philosophy

Discovery Lane Day School (DLDS) was started in 2007 by Wendy Lane, a mom and educator. Wendy opened the school to provide an encouraging, nurturing, and affordable childcare option for families in the Spring Hill community. At DLDS, it is our hope to partner with each family to help their child discover their unique potential - academically, socially, and interpersonally.

DLDS is committed to the Tennessee Three Star program. The Three Star Program shows parents and guardians that we are going above and beyond the minimum licensing requirements. In coordination with the Three Star Program, our school is evaluated each year regarding Director Qualifications, Professional Development, Developmental Learning, Parent/Family Involvement, Ration & Group Size, Staff Compensation, and Program Development. Discovery Lane has been a Three Star School every year since 2008.

Health & Safety

A safe, nurturing environment is always our top priority.

Safety and COVID-19 precautions: Our classrooms are mopped daily. Tables are cleaned at least four times per day. Students and teachers wash hands frequently. All toys and classroom items are sprayed down with the state recommended bleach/water mixture every afternoon at the close of the school day. Currently, parents and guardians are not attending class parties or other indoor school events.

We also utilize drop-off /pick-up car lines for parents in the mornings and afternoons. This is not only convenient and frequently raved about by our parents but it ensures no strangers are roaming our hallways. Only those with the proper number or identification will be granted permission to take a child off premises.
